Simone Inzaghi was pleased with his teams response after going a goal down against Bologna: ‘We know the importance of keeping our heads’. The Nerazzurri went behind early on but fought back to rout Bologna 6-1 in a dominant performance, with goals coming from across the pitch. Speaking to DAZN after the match, the Inter coach reflected on last nights match but also their defeat in the Derby D’Italia against Juventus.
We know the importance of keeping our heads. We had an important game, with important performances. Tonight we were playing against a team that was coming from 4 consecutive wins, high in confidence. We conceded a goal, however, the team stayed in the game and equalized right away. A very good response.
Juventus? Unfortunately, I was not happy after the game in Turin, but in these three days I have seen the boys working, aware of the defeat that had hurt us so badly. For the result, for the importance it had. We conceded a fortuitous goal, however, I had so much confidence that we would fix it already in the first half.
For us coaches it is never easy, unfortunately we have to make choices every day. Right now so many are playing well, they are putting in so much effort, and they make it difficult for me. Let’s not forget that we practically played 18 games without Lukaku and 14 without Brozovic, two very important players that we missed. But thanks to all of them, though, we have had a great run in the Champions League.
I always have the pressure since I played. With the management there is a very good relationship, we always talk to each other. The management always tries to analyze, in victories and defeats. The thing I like the most is that they are very transparent, they are direct and if they have the need to tell you something they tell you clearly. I have a very good relationship with them.”
