Inzaghi testifies in Ultras Investigation: “I told Inter more tickets were needed”

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has provided testimony to the Milan Mobile Squad as part of the ongoing investigation into the leadership of Inter and AC Milan’s ultras groups. Inzaghi, speaking as a person informed about the facts, shed light on his interactions with ultras leader Marco Ferdico regarding ticket requests for the 2023 Champions League final in Istanbul.

According to Inzaghi’s statement, as recounted by FCInterNews, he relayed Ferdico’s request to the club’s management, though he couldn’t recall specifically to whom. “I conveyed to the company, to the management, but I don’t remember to whom, Ferdico’s request,” Inzaghi stated. He explained that after hearing Ferdico’s appeal, he informed the club that “there was a need for some extra tickets” for the final.

The coach emphasized that his “desire was for the team’s fans to be there to cheer them on” for the Champions League final. This clarification provides context to the nature of his involvement in the ticket allocation process.

Inzaghi also took the opportunity to distance himself from other figures involved in the investigation. He stated that he had no knowledge of Antonio Bellocco, a member of the Curva Nord’s leadership and heir to an ‘Ndrangheta clan, who was killed on September 4 by Andrea Beretta, another curva leader. “I learned who Bellocco was after reading the newspapers. I know who Beretta is, but I’ve never had any dealings with him,” Inzaghi clarified.

This testimony forms part of a broader investigation that has led to the dismantling of the leadership structures of both Inter and AC Milan’s ultras groups.
