Inzaghi reflects on 4-4 draw with Juventus: “I am so angry, there is disappointment. We need to work harder and better.”

Following the thrilling 4-4 draw between Inter and Juventus in the Derby d’Italia, Inter manager Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts on the match in a post-game interview with Sky Sport. The high-scoring affair, while exciting for neutral fans, left Inzaghi visibly frustrated with his team’s defensive performance.

“I am very angry,” Inzaghi began. “There’s disappointment, and the four goals we conceded will be a subject of analysis. You can face four shots, but you can’t concede four goals. Tonight, they should have conceded 7 or 8 goals, we should have made it 5-2. There’s bitterness, and there were many sad faces at the end of the match.”

Addressing the 13 goals conceded by Inter in the first part of the season, Inzaghi admitted, “We need to work more and better. I need to do more.”

He continued, “We conceded goals that cannot be conceded. At 4-2, we should have scored the fifth. It’s right that there’s disappointment and anger, but we must also highlight the positive things: we created 9 scoring opportunities against a team that had only conceded 1 goal so far.”

Reflecting on the unique nature of the match, Inzaghi stated, “I’ve managed many games, but I’ve never experienced one like this. It makes me think that I could have done something more as well. We had many absences, but a strong and experienced team like ours should have brought home the victory, as we deserved.”
