Inzaghi on Young Boys win: “A deserved, heartfelt victory”

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts with Prime Video following their victory against Young Boys in the Champions League. He emphasized the challenging nature of the competition, noting, “In the Champions League, all matches are complicated, and all Italian teams have struggled. The team showed great heart; we lost our shape at times but believed in ourselves. We created a lot and deserved the victory.”

Inzaghi praised the contributions of his players, highlighting their depth and adaptability: “Those who came on did well, just like in Rome. I have a well-equipped squad and need to make the best choices possible, especially now that we have a few absences. We are at the beginning of a cycle of seven matches.”

Discussing individual performances, Inzaghi mentioned Hakan Calhanoglu’s importance to the team: “He’s an important player. Today Asllani was missing, but Barella did well and sacrificed himself. We hope the emergency situation will resolve; otherwise, I’ll ask for more sacrifices from him.”

Addressing Marko Arnautovic’s feelings after the match, Inzaghi said, “He was very disappointed. He’s a penalty taker like Taremi; against Red Star, Taremi took the penalty, and today it was his turn. He felt responsible, but I told him to stay calm.”
