The team showed great heart; we lost our shape at times but believed in ourselves. We created a lot and deserved the victory.”
Inzaghi praised the contributions of his players, highlighting their depth and adaptability: “Those who came on did well, just like in Rome. I have a well-equipped squad and need to make the best choices possible, especially now that we have a few absences. We are at the beginning of a cycle of seven matches.”
Discussing individual performances, Inzaghi mentioned Hakan Calhanoglu’s importance to the team: “He’s an important player. Today Asllani was missing, but Barella did well and sacrificed himself. We hope the emergency situation will resolve; otherwise, I’ll ask for more sacrifices from him.”
Addressing Marko Arnautovic’s feelings after the match, Inzaghi said, “He was very disappointed. He’s a penalty taker like Taremi; against Red Star, Taremi took the penalty, and today it was his turn. He felt responsible, but I told him to stay calm.”
