Inter coach Simone Inzaghi believes their victory over Napoli was a great confidence boost in their bid for the title. The Nerazzurri were imperious in their 1-0 win over the Partenopei and should have won the match by a larger margin. Speaking to DAZN (via TMW) after the game, Inzaghi expressed his pride for his players, especially Edin Dzeko who scored the winning goal:
” Dzeko? He’s doing very well: he’s a player of great technique and strength, he’s helping us a lot in this run-up. But we must continue like this: tonight is a great injection of confidence. I’m proud of my boys, it’s a pleasure to see them like this.
We had a great match but we have to continue like this. We were imprecise in the first half, but the team was always focused on the pitch.
It was a feat. Beating Napoli must give us great confidence for the future. In the league we lost points initially but it’s still a long way to go: we have to think match by match.
Do I believe in the Scudetto? There are so many games left to go and this break is something new for everyone: we must always do better also because there are so many teams in contention.
Calhanoglu’s growth? He’s always having a positive path: we’ve coached him and he’s doing very well in that role, like all my boys”.
