Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance following their 1-0 victory against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. The win capped off a successful Sunday for Inter in Serie A’s eighth round of matches.

Inzaghi began by highlighting the team’s defensive solidity: “In the three matches where we didn’t concede, we faced strong teams. We need to work and improve. Tonight, despite the difficulties, we did well. The players had an excellent game. The Olimpico is a difficult ground, so I’m pleased with the performance.”

The coach then addressed concerns about injuries within the squad: “The injuries worry me a bit. We had some issues because Asllani and Zielinski had problems. Calhanoglu wasn’t feeling great these days, but after training and warm-up, we decided to play him. I think he stopped in time.”

Inzaghi also touched on the team’s away form: “At home, we have a good record, but away from San Siro, we’re missing something. We were good at being a team tonight.”

When asked about star striker Lautaro Martinez, Inzaghi was effusive in his praise: “Lautaro must continue doing what he’s doing. I believe he’s among the top 5 players in the world. He deserves it. I would give the Ballon d’Or to all the boys tonight.”

The Inter boss concluded by emphasizing the significance of the victory: “Roma fielded players of great quality. Winning in Rome is very important.”
