Inter coach Simone Inzaghi believes the club will face Manchester City in the Champions League group stages. The Nerazzurri boss was speaking after his sides 2-0 win over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, and shared his thoughts on the win and Monday’s group-stage draw:
“These are the matches that make the coaches happy. Inter are doing well, we came on a difficult pitch with so many important players at home and in the difficulties we did well. We only conceded one chance to Rovella. The obstacles are the 22 league games left, plus those in the other competitions. It has only been four months, nine must pass. We have been leading for several days but we must continue like this. I change the players but they always give me good answers.”
“Bisseck was great, it was a great test for him because Lazio had Zaccagni on that side. It wasn’t an easy match, he almost perfectly learned Italian and I had no doubts about him. It was still too early to risk Pavard”.
“We need to stay in the lead with all our might. In two days there’s the Coppa Italia, it’s a competition we care about.
“Champions League draw? In my opinion we’ll take Manchester City. Any team will be a great test.”
