Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi expressed his confidence in the entire squad as they prepare to face Monza at the U-Power Stadium. Speaking to DAZN before the match, Inzaghi emphasized the challenges that lie ahead and the importance of maintaining the right attitude.
“Clearly, it will not be an easy match. Every week we see how all games hide pitfalls,” Inzaghi began. “We will need to have the right attitude. Monza is a team that is doing well. We analysed their game in Florence: they played an excellent match against a valuable opponent, so we’ll need the right approach from the start of the game.”
Addressing questions about his line-up choices, particularly the inclusion of Frattesi after his goals for the national team, Inzaghi explained, “We know we’ll have many matches in quick succession, but the rule of recent years doesn’t change. We’ll have to prepare for them one at a time, even making some changes like today. I have maximum confidence in everyone. I can only play a maximum of 16 between starters and substitutes, but all 23 players here with us in Monza would be more than ready.”
Inzaghi further elaborated on his selection process: “The reason for the changes? I tried to look especially at the training sessions. Those who stayed here were obviously able to work better. But I found players in good health, who are doing well. In the forward department, all four players were on national team duty; only Correa remained to work with us, and he did well. There I had to make choices: both Taremi and Lautaro had long trips, so I opted for these two (Lautaro Martinez and Thuram), but we’ll see what happens during the course of the match.”
