Simone Inzaghi believes the match against Atalanta will be a ‘tough’ match that will require a high level of concentration throughout. The Nerazzurri are back at the top of the Serie A table after a hard-fought win over Roma last weekend, but a visit to Bergamo poses a tougher challenge. Speaking with InterTV, Inzaghi analysed the match in prospect, explaining that his players will need to be good at ‘suffering together’ against Atalanta:
“It will be a tough match: we know Atalanta, who have been doing well for years, have an excellent coach and an excellent club, who are also getting results in this championship. It will be a match where we will have to keep our concentration very high”.
“All aspects are very important: the lucidity we’ve had in the last few games will have to remain in our minds in Bergamo. We face a team that has both technical and physical qualities. Of course we’ll have to be very focused at all times, in the last few games we’ve done well defensively. The lads will be stressed and we’ll have to be good at suffering all together in certain moments of the match, because we know well the opponent we’ll meet”.
“It will be a physical match, the data is important. Two teams that have physicality and a lot of weapons will meet tomorrow – It will be a very good game on a pitch that is anything but easy”.
“Thuram? Marcus has been good, it’s since 13 July that all the boys are working very well, in front there is always the ‘we’, not the ‘I’: they are all working very well together, as a group. Marcus has fitted in very well with everyone’s help and in my opinion he still has room for improvement. He must continue to grow as he is doing every day when he comes here to train’.
