Inzaghi anticipates challenges as Inter face Young Boys in Champions League

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi addressed the media ahead of his team’s UEFA Champions League clash against Young Boys. Speaking to Sky Sport and in a press conference, Inzaghi emphasized the importance of the match and the challenges his team will face.

“This is a Champions League match, so it’s not simple to approach and prepare for,” Inzaghi stated. “We mustn’t think about Juventus. Our opponent didn’t start well in their league but won their last match against Lucerne, and the coach from last year has returned to the bench. There will be difficulties, and we’ll need to be very good at managing them with the right attitude.”

Addressing the artificial turf at Stadion Wankdorf in Bern, Inzaghi said, “The synthetic pitch is something new. We trained at the stadium to get used to it, but these things can happen. Calhanoglu, Asllani, and Buchanan won’t be available. Zielinski has traveled with us, but we’ll see how he is. We’ll try to make the best choices for the match.”

Inzaghi described Young Boys as a “structured team” with a new coach who knows the environment well. He noted their good performance in their recent match against Lucerne and stressed the need for his team to be attentive.

Reflecting on Inter’s recent victory against Roma, Inzaghi said, “It’s been four years that I’ve been coaching Inter, and it’s four years that we’ve been winning in Rome, which I think happened much less before. Probably in the first half last year we had suffered much more. I can only say that I congratulated the boys for the great heart they showed. Rome is a difficult field, Inter’s history says so: it’s a team with quality that has invested a lot in building the squad. I’ll take a great performance and an important victory, which must make us continue on the path we’re on.”
