Simone Inzaghi believes 2023 has been a satisfying year for Inter: “We won a few trophies and played a very exciting Champions League final.” The Nerazzurri travel to Genoa on Friday to face Albero Gilardino’s side, and speaking ahead of the match, Inzaghi explained why it will be a tough match for his players against a well prepared side:
“It will be a hard-fought match: Genoa are in a very good moment, they have quality players and a very prepared coach who is doing well. We’ll have to play a shrewd game with great intensity. We will have a few absences, but the rotations must be a very good solution for us and must not become a problem. They have already been a very good solution for us in these periods with so many close games.
“We are satisfied with our numbers after these 17 games. There are still 21 to go and we must continue to maintain important numbers both offensively and defensively. The secret is the great willingness that all the players are showing”.
‘2023? The group is very solid: the lads love each other and are good together. On Barella’s goal there was a beautiful collective embrace, we must continue like this, but clearly the solidity of the group is very important.
