Inter’s Marotta: “Winning the scudetto and Champions League final is mandatory”

Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta shared his ambitions for the club in a recent interview with DAZN, just before their Serie A match against Lazio. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming game and the team’s aspirations for both domestic and European success.

Discussing the significance of the match, Marotta stated, “I believe tonight is crucial to evaluate the team’s performance. The standings are indeed widening, but we are in a transitional phase. We are not talking about teams that are running away or contenders for the Scudetto. For us, it’s important to get answers; it will certainly be a great match, and the players are aware of this.”

Marotta expressed his unwavering belief in Inter’s potential to compete at the highest level. “In our DNA, we have the obligation to compete in all competitions. We will strive for maximum achievement: reaching the Champions League final and winning the league title. It is mandatory to think this way; a club like Inter cannot settle for less or think minimally.”

When asked about Lautaro Martinez’s goal-scoring struggles, Marotta acknowledged the pressure on the captain but highlighted its importance. “Yes, especially to provide comfort to himself. The boy is suffering, but our problem isn’t just scoring goals. However, if our captain joins the list of scorers, it makes it much easier to secure results.”
