Denzel Dumfries has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United over the past 24 hours.
Dumfries, 24, has been consistently mooted to leave Serie A since the summer. Following his positive displays at the World Cup, the Netherlands international has been awarded a €40m price tag.
Inter remain in a precarious financial situation after reporting consecutive years of major losses.
Raimondo De Magistris of TuttoMercatoWeb posted an update in which he reports that Chelsea have been in contact regarding Dumfries, but that discussions have yet to progress into concrete negotiations.
De Magistris also linked Manchester United to a potential transfer, stating that they have “deepend” talks with Inter.
Fabrizio Romano, however, disagreed with this suggestion, detailing via his Youtube channel:
“Manchester United, could be a possibility to go for a new backup right-back. But I don’t want to sell your dreams, don’t expect players like Dumfries or [Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie] Frimpong.”
As a more likely destination for Dumfries, FcInternews reported yesterday that Antonio Conte has told Tottenham’s sporting director, Fabio Paratici, to pursue the Dutch right wing-back if a move for Sporting Lisbon’s Pedro Porro does not materialise.
The news outlet also says that Rafaela Pimenta, Dumfries’ agent, is currently in London – with 71 clients in her books, however, it would be mere speculation to confirm whether or not she is discussing Dumfries with Chelsea and Tottenham.
