Inter Milan will be without two key players for their UEFA Champions League opener against Manchester City on Wednesday. Federico Dimarco and Marko Arnautovic have both been ruled out of the match at the Etihad Stadium.
Dimarco, the Italian defender, is dealing with muscle fatigue and did not participate in Inter’s final training session before departing for England. Meanwhile, Arnautovic woke up with a fever on Tuesday morning and also missed training.
Their absences will force manager Simone Inzaghi to adjust his lineup for the high-profile clash against the reigning Champions League winners. It remains uncertain if either player will recover in time for Inter’s upcoming Serie A derby against AC Milan on Sunday.
In addition to Dimarco and Arnautovic, Inter will also be without the injured Tajon Buchanan. Joaquin Correa is unavailable as well, having been left off Inter’s UEFA squad list for the group stage.
The Nerazzurri are set to travel to Manchester on Tuesday afternoon. Inzaghi and one Inter player will address the media at a pre-match press conference scheduled for 20:00 CET.
