Inter are being linked with a move for Nigerian starlet George Ilenikhena, a player who has already been dubbed ‘the new Victor Osimhen’. The Nerazzurri are reportedly turning their attention to new young talent, as they look to build on their Scudetto success and plan for the future.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter directors, =in agreement with coach Simone Inzaghi, aim to create an even more futuristic team by adding fresh blood to a winning core. Ilenikhena, a French center-forward who is not yet 18 years old but has already earned the ambitious nickname of “New Osimhen”, is on the Nerazzurri’s list, and they will make efforts to sign him soon.
The preferred target for the strategic addition in attack could be the result of this “youthful” thinking, especially if the assault on Albert Gudmundsson, a favorite of the Inter management, proves more complicated than expected. However, due to his constant goalscoring, the price of the Icelander is skyrocketing.
Meanwhile, Inter can only evaluate alternatives and profiles with different characteristics in a department that will change: a farewell to Alexis Sanchez, an exit could also be sought for the inconsistent Marko Arnautovic. Joaquin Correa will be signed by Marseille only if the French qualify for the Champions League: if he returns to Appiano, the Argentine will only be passing through to a new destination. In this scenario, without other more ambitious signings upfront, Ilenikhena is indeed the new idea for Inter.
