Inter have informed Lazio of their intention to sign veteran defender Francesco Acerbi outright when his loan spell with the club ends. The 34-year-old made the move to Inter last summer after falling out with Biancocelesti fans following a 2-1 defeat to Milan in the 2021/22 season.
Since joining the Nerazzurri, Acerbi has made 22 appearances across all competitions for the club this season, scoring one goal and becoming a very capable and reliable deputy. La Gazzetta dello Sport now report that Inter have informed Lazio of their intention to sign Acerbi, but are hoping to negotiate the agreed €4m fee, which they consider to be on the high side.
Acerbi spent four seasons in Rome, making 173 appearances for Lazio in four seasons before the incident against Milan which saw his relationship with the clubs hardcore fans fracture.
