Inter to meet Thuram entourage in Doha

Start

Inter executives are preparing to meet with the entourage of Marcus Thuram in Qatar in the hopes of beating Bayern to the player. The Nerazzurri are very keen on the Frenchman, who only has seven months left on his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Thuram has told the German side that he will not sign a contract extension and is ready to leave.

The Nerazzurri are aware that the young striker will be in-demand in June, and as such, they hope to beat Bayern to his signature, knowing that the Bavarians will have a distinct advantage in a few months time.

Gazzetta report that Sporting Director Piero Ausilio, and vice-president Javier Zanetti, and further down the road, deputy Sporting Director Dario Baccin will all be in Doha. Their plan is to remain close to the 7 Inter players playing in the Cup and already have institutional meetings on their agenda with the secretariats of the big clubs.

Marcus’s representatives are also arriving in Doha, and the circumstance will lead to a meeting to discuss the feasibility of a move and to start talking about figures: the Nerazzurri can go up to €5 million in salary, no more.

Borussia are resigned to losing Thuram and are asking at least €10 million to sell him in January, a figure that is deemed too high for the Nerazzurri, however they could raise funds by moving on fringe players.
