Inter are still expected to make a move for Monza’s Brazilian full-back Carlos Augusto this summer. The 24-year-old was one of the surprise breakout stars of the 2022-23 season in a newly promoted Monza team that comfortably finished mid-table, despite a rocky start.
Augusto was a fundamental lynchpin in the Biancorossi season, scoring 6 goals in 37 appearances across the campaign, attracting attention from a number of Serie A sides.
Recent reports suggested that Inter were very keen on the player, however their attention has recently been focused on sales and balancing the books.
Transfer journalist Nicolo Schira reports that the Nerazzurri still hold a strong interest in the full-back. Schira claims Inter director Beppe Marotta met his Monza counterpart Adriano Galliani last week to discuss a deal for Augusto.
