Inter have set their sights on Atalanta youngster Giorgio Scalvini following his breakthrough season with La Dea. The 18-year-old is considered one of the most exciting prospects in Italian football today, and has already been linked with the likes of Juventus and Manchester City.
Il Corriere dello Sport (via FCInterNews1908) report that the Nerazzurri are very keen on Scalvini and would like to pre-empt both City and Juve by using their excellent relations with Atalanta to sign the player.
Inter see Scalvini as ‘the new Bastoni’ and their ‘preferential channel’ with La Dea could see them steal a march on the competition as they have done in the past with Robin Gosens and Roberto Gagliardini.
Scalvini has started to feature more frequently for Atalanta this year, playing in both midfield, but primarily in defence, while also making his Azzurri debut in 2022.
