Inter Milan president, Giuseppe Marotta, shared his thoughts with Sky Sport just moments before the kickoff of Inter’s Champions League match against Arsenal. The game marks the fourth round of the group stage in Europe’s premier club competition.
Marotta emphasized the importance of the Champions League, stating, “The Champions League is the most important competition, but it also serves as a training ground. Here, you always face opponents of the highest level, and the right mental approach is crucial. By playing these matches, you acquire the right mentality over time. We are in continuous growth.”
Regarding the upcoming Serie A match against Napoli, Marotta commented, “Napoli? It will be an important match. Today, there will be 11 players on the field who may not necessarily be the same ones playing against Napoli. That match, like this one, will be difficult and must be approached with the right mindset.”
When asked about the club’s ownership, Marotta praised Oaktree Capital Management, saying, “The intelligence of the owners lies in giving freedom to the managerial staff. They have great enthusiasm and give us security. They want to measure themselves against the great clubs of Europe, and we are doing this while always keeping in mind the concept of sustainability.”
Addressing potential moves in the January transfer window, Marotta revealed, “We have a balanced team of young and experienced players, and we don’t have any particular needs. I don’t think we’ll make any big moves, but we’ll be vigilant if any young players who might interest us should emerge.”
