According to various news outlets, Barcelona are in negotiations with Inter concerning the potential swap of Franck Kessié and Marcelo Brozović.
Spanish reports surfaced a couple of days ago suggesting that an offer had been tabled by Barça. Media in Italy has now confirmed these rumours, such as Gianluca di Marzio.
Sky Italia has added that discussions are currently being dealt with between intermediaries with the clubs awaiting their respective players’ opinions before engaging in concrete talks.
Both players earn a net salary of approximately €6m plus add-ons per year. Similarly, their current contracts will both expire in June 2026.
Kessié, 26, has struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou since his free transfer from Milan. The Ivorian has been restricted to 244 minutes of gametime in La Liga. Barcelona are, therefore, driving this potential deal.
Brozović, 30, is currently recovering from a calf injury sustained during the World Cup. The midfielder had just recovered from a hamstring injury prior to joining Croatia’s campaign in Qatar. His last 90-minute outing for Inter was on 18th September against Udinese.
Gerard Romero of Jijantes FC has also reported that the two clubs are in discussions over an exchange between Memphis Depay and Joaquín Correa. This transfer still depends on the approval of Depay, as previously reported by Foot Italia. With two Liga appearances to his name this season, the Netherlands international is likely to agree to such a proposal to play in Serie A if his astronomical wage structure of €200,000 per week are met by the Inter board.
