In a significant day for Inter Milan, the club’s Board of Directors meeting preceded the Shareholders’ Assembly, where President Giuseppe Marotta shared the club’s vision and future projects.
Marotta began by emphasizing the importance of Oaktree Capital Management’s involvement: “Oaktree represents a guarantee for the future. Being president is an honor and a responsibility, following in the footsteps of Fraizzoli, Pellegrini, Facchetti, and Moratti.”
Regarding the objectives for the 2024/2025 season, Marotta stated, “Our goals will be to compete at the highest levels in Italy and Europe, improve the club’s finances, work on the new stadium project, and enhance training facilities.”
The club is also focusing on youth development. Marotta explained, “We will seek to increase the integration of young players, which will require patience from the public as well.” He also mentioned that they are analyzing the possibility of having their own Under-23 team starting from the 2025/26 season.
Addressing the recent ultras issue, Marotta commented, “We are the injured party and without tools to protect ourselves against things that have nothing to do with football. The new stadium will help strengthen a healthy relationship with the fans and our identity.”
Alessandro Antonello, the corporate CEO, also spoke at the Assembly. Responding to a shareholder’s question about low revenues, he said, “We can do better. The agreement regarding the shirt sponsor is the best in Serie A. We are always focused on development, and in recent years, revenues have grown significantly.”
