Inter Milan Face Attacking Crisis as Thuram and Arnautovic Miss Group Training

Start

Inter Milan’s attacking options for the upcoming crucial match against Juventus are in jeopardy as both Marcus Thuram and Marko Arnautovic missed group training sessions. The two forwards sustained injuries during Inter’s recent victory over Fiorentina, raising concerns about their availability for Sunday’s high-stakes encounter at the Allianz Stadium.

Thuram, who was forced to leave the field after just 28 minutes against Fiorentina due to discomfort in his left ankle, underwent medical examinations that revealed no significant lesions. However, the French striker continues to experience pain, which originated from a previous match against Palladino’s team at the Franchi Stadium.

Arnautovic, who came on as a substitute for Thuram and scored the winning goal against Fiorentina, also had to be replaced later in the game due to physical issues. The Austrian international is currently dealing with unresolved fatigue, which has kept him out of team training.

While the injuries to both attackers do not appear to be severe, Inter’s medical staff is taking a cautious approach. The club will assess the players’ conditions day by day, but it remains uncertain whether they will be fit for the crucial match against Juventus.

On a positive note for Inter, both Federico Dimarco and Alessandro Bastoni have returned to regular group training, boosting the team’s defensive options.

The potential absence of Thuram and Arnautovic could pose a significant challenge for manager Simone Inzaghi as he prepares his squad for the top-of-the-table clash. With the Serie A title race heating up, Inter will be hoping for a swift recovery of their key attackers to maintain their momentum in the league.
