Inter are reportedly looking to replace Simone Inzaghi at the end of the season, and are being linked with both Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte. The Nerazzurri have had an up-and-down season, winning in a number of big games this campaign but slipping up against the smaller sides in Serie A, and the turbulent form is prompting the club’s management to consider their options.
The Times report that if Tottenham Hotpsur are knocked out of the Champions League, it will increase the likelihood of Conte leaving at the end of the season.
The report outlines how Spurs have the option to extend his present deal by a year, but the 53-year-old has said he will stay in charge next season only if he is happy, and it is expected that he will return to Italy this summer.
The Times also claim that Inter, who Conte led to the title in 2021, have informally inquired about his position and there could be interest from Roma if José Mourinho leaves with one year left on his deal, which has been speculated about in recent weeks.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (as quoted by FCInter1908) suggest that Inzaghi’s future is very much dependent on what he achieves this season, primarily in the Champions League, Coppa Italia and if he can guide Inter to the top 4 in Serie A.
Their suggestion is that the club is also weighing up the option of brining in Tuchel, despite him being linked with a number of other European clubs this summer, and he is firmly on the managements list of potential candidates.
