With the transfer window imminently approaching, Inter are keen to extend central defender Stefan De Vrij’s stay at the club.
As it stands, the Dutchman’s contract is set to expire at the end of this year’s campaign. While it seemed like the Nerazzurri were set to offload the defender this summer, his impressive performances thus far has changed the club’s perspective of the situation.
So far this season, De Vrij has made 14 appearances across all competitions, scoring a single goal against Sampdoria where he headed home a corner delivered by Hakan Calhanoglu.
According to reports from Turin-based newspaper Tutto Sport, as relayed by FC Inter News, the Milanese club are willing to offer a new deal to the 30 year-old stopper that would prolong his stay until 2025.
With the well-documented player serving as a vital asset within Conte’s title winning campaign, as well as last season’s domestic double where Inter seized the Super Cup and Coppa Italia, there is no doubt that De Vrij is a signifcant figure within the Benemata back-line.
