Inter are reportedly set to begin negotiations with Udinese for Serbian midfielder starlet Lazar Samardžić. The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in Serie A since joining the Friulani in 2021 and enjoyed his best season to date in the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 5 goals in 35 appearances.
Milan were thought to be the side most interested in the young talent as they look to find a replacement for the Newcastle bound Sandro Tonali.
Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto reports today that despite reports linking Samardžić with both Napoli and Milan, Inter are in fact in the lead to sign him.
Moretto reports that negotiations are going to begin soon and to date, the Nerazzurri are the team in the most advanced position to sign the midfielder.
