La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Inter are still in talks to sign midfielder Franck Kessié who wants to leave Barcelona. The Ivory Coast international made the switch from Lombardy to Catalonia last summer, leaving Milan on a free, but has failed to find a place in coach Xavi’s side, featuring largely as a substitute from the bench.
Kessié was linked with a return to Serie A in January with reports suggesting Inter would be prepared to offer Marcelo Brozovic in exchange, but a move failed to go through.
Gazzetta now claim that Inter and Barcelona remain in talks over a potential transfer which could involve both players making the switch, with Kessié keen to leave the Catalan’s in order to gain more playing time.
According to Gazzetta, Inter President Steven Zhang has promised coach Simone Inzaghi an improved midfield for next season and Kessié is considered a key addition.
