In a new development, Inter’s management held a meeting with Alejandro Camano, the agent of Lautaro Martinez, regarding the renewal of the striker’s contract. The Nerazzurri will be facing Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 later tonight, with Lautaro undoubtedly leading the line.
Sky Sport Italia report that negotiations for Lautaro’s contract renewal are ongoing, and earlier today, Inter’s management met with Alejandro Camano, the agent of the Argentine forward.
The parties, set to reconvene in about a month, have already reached an agreement on all aspects, with only the final convergence remaining to be achieved. The entourage of the striker are requesting a salary of around €10 million per year, while Inter is offering €8 million. The Nerazzurri management will therefore attempt to raise their offer to €9 million (once they have received authorization from Club President Steven Zhang).
Sky write that ‘the possibility of closing the deal at €10 million is not excluded and there continues to be optimism between the partiest, who will reconvene in the coming weeks. Inter, in fact, are confident of reaching an agreement for the renewal of their captain, whose contract runs until June 30, 2026.
