With plenty of uncertainty looming around the Nerazzurri, Inter have earmarked the Valencia center-back Mouctar Diakhaby as potential defensive option.
As it stands, it remains unsure whether Slovakian international Milan Skriniar will extend his stay at the San Siro as his contract is set to expire at the end of this year’s campaign.
The club has decided to push back the negotiations with the 27 year-old regarding his future with the Milanese club until after the Viktoria Plzen fixture within the Champions League in order to maximize the financial resources at their disposal, as Inter would receive an additional €20m if they were to win and secure their spot within the Round of 16.
With many European giants analyzing the situation as they prepare to enter a bidding war for the star defender in the case of a fallout within the extension talks, Inter have found an alternative option within the back-line.
According to reports from Calciomercato, the Nerazzurri are monitoring Diakhaby as they view him as possible option in order to provide defensive reinforcements within Inzaghi’s squad.
Since arriving from French outfits Olympique Lyon in the summer of 2018, the 25 year-old has cemented his spot within the starting eleven, making a total of 107 appearances across all competitions with the La Liga side over the past five years.
With the Guinean internaional’s contract set to expire at the end of this year’s current campaign, it remains to be seen whether Inter will attempt to lure the defender in the winter transfer window for a low-ball transfer fee.
