Inter have confirmed that centre-back Francesco Acerbi has undergone surgery, following a groin injury he picked up at the end of the season. The 36-year-old veteran is set to miss the EURO’s, having had persistent discomfort that led him to undergo surgery.
Acerbi was taken to a clinic where he underwent a successful operation, as confirmed via the official Inter website:
This morning, Francesco Acerbi underwent surgery to reinforce the right inguinal wall at the Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano. The surgery was successful.
After a period of rest, agreed upon with the Nerazzurri medical staff, Acerbi will begin the rehabilitation phase.
