Inter and Juventus are keeping an eye on Chris Smalling who is yet to agree a contract extension with Roma. The veteran defender is into his last year with the Giallorossi and could become a free agent next summer.
Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are waiting to see what the 33-year-old will do next.
According to Di Marzio, Roma are keen to extend the former Manchester United defender’s contract and have offered him a new two-year deal but on a lower salary than the €3.5 million he currently earns in the capital.
Di Marzio suggests that as yet, the players entourage are leaving the situation open for now while Roma are keen to get a renewal agreed as soon as possible.
