Inter add Napoli’s Giacomo Raspadori to short-list of strikers

Start

As a result of a lack of goals outside of attacking duo Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is eager for an explosive and ruthless front-line ahead of the up-coming season.

Whilst Porto striker Mehdi Taremi is on the verge of joining the Nerazzurri on a free transfer, Inter have recently added Napoli marksman Giacomo Raspadori to their list of summer targets along side Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that the Nerazzurri are attracted to bringing the Italian international to the San Siro due to his great deal of experience under his belt in the Serie A, Champions League, as well as the Italian national team.

Inter have been monitoring the attacking ace during his time at Sassuolo, prior to his immense summer move to Napoli last season. The Benemata rate Raspadori highly and view him as an ideal profile up-top given his strong technical ability, his pace, and capability to play as a first and second striker up-top.

Despite his purple patch of form this season of four goals and three assists in 29 games-played in the Serie A for the Partenopei this season, Inter are confident that Raspadori can improve under coach Simone Inzaghi’s tactical system as his age provides him a license for plenty of room to prosper into a clinical goal-scorer and unlock new skill-sets.

It remains to be seen which striker Inter will pursue as the missing piece of the puzzle in order to complete the attacking department ahead of next year’s season.
