Calciomercato report that Inter have activated the €4m buy option to sign Francesco Acerbi’s outright this summer. The 35-year-old veteran had spent the season on loan with the Nerazzuri, who in turn hoped to negotiate a discount with Lazio for his signature.
Calciomercato.com report that despite talks between the two clubs, Lazio were unwilling to offer any discounts for Acerbi’s signature.
As such, Inter opted to go ahead and exercise the €4m option in the defenders contract, meaning he is now contracted to the club until until June 2025.
Acerbi ended up playing a vital role for the Nerazzurri, filling in for Milan Skriniar for much of the 2022-23 campaign and man-marking Erling Haaland in the Champions League final.
