Zlatan Ibrahimovic believe Sandro Tonali is ready for the Premier League and revealed he could return to Milan in a managerial role. The former Rossoneri striker announced his retirement from the game at the end of the last campaign, and speaking at a commercial event in Bergamo, he explained that he is feeling calm and taking things slowly:
“Right now I feel calm, very calm, and this surprises me because I did not think I would be so calm. I imagined I would be much more stressed. Instead, feeling like this is cool. A farewell game? I’ve decided to quit, but I don’t have that idea yet. Let’s see what happens now, no rush, quietly. There is time. You have seen Riquelme, haven’t you? I continue to follow football, of course, but not everything. When you break away you only look from the outside, it’s a different thing.”
“Meeting Maldini at the Coldplay concert at San Siro? I have a good relationship with him, we played against each other and I’m sorry we were not together as a team. But we worked together, we won. Then, for everything else, I don’t know what happened. I feel sorry for Paolo, because he is a bandiera for Milan.”
“Is Tonali ready for the Premier League? Yes, I think so. Of course, it depends on him. I made him understand the right mentality he has to have to win, and he won. He has grown so much with Milan, he has a big responsibility and he still has to grow, but in England he will make it, and he will make it well.”
“Return to Milan? I am proud of the fact that people want to see me back in Milan even in another role. Milan has remained in my heart, what I went through with this club is something that stays inside. And then to see the passion of the fans like today is something that gives me so much. Now I’m taking my time, let’s see what will happen. It’s only been three weeks, maybe I go back to play, you never know. Maybe in a month I’m in a training camp with Milan….”
