Roma defender Dean Huijsen expressed his happiness at getting on the scoresheet and discussed his first month with the Giallorossi. The Dutch centre-back joined Roma on loan from Juventus and has gone on to become a key part of their defence, putting in a stellar performance against Cagliari on Monday evening:
“I’m very proud and happy to be here,” Huijsen told DAZN at full-time. “Personally, this is a positive spell for me. The team welcomed me right from the start and I feel good here.”
“The stadium and the atmosphere here is very beautiful. Playing in front of sixty thousand spectators is always nice,” he added.
“Mourinho? Everything happened in a month… At the beginning it was difficult when Mourinho left because he was the one who wanted me. But right from the start I felt good with De Rossi. He’s constantly supporting and advising me.”
“My future? I don’t know what will happen,” said the young centreback. “In football anything can happen.”
“I feel good, we are growing as a team. We aim to get as high as possible in the standings because we hope to at least get to the Champions League by the end of the season.”
