Roma are set to lose Houssem Aouar for at least a month after he picked up an injury in their win over Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League. The Algerian international went down at half-time in the Giallorossi’s 2-0 win over the Moldovan side, and was forced to come off for the remainder of the match.
Reports later confirmed that the midfielder had been diagnosed with a lesion to the adductor in his left thigh.
The injury is expected to keep him sidelined for at least one month, meaning he won’t be back on the pitch until January 2024 at the earliest.
Aouar joins Paulo Dybala, Chris Smalling, Marash Kumbulla and Tammy Abraham in the infirmary, but Sardar Azmoun is expected to return for Sunday’s match with Bologna.
