Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola had high praise for Inter Milan following their 0-0 draw in the Champions League. Speaking after the match, Guardiola acknowledged the difficulty of the encounter and complimented Inter’s performance.
“It was a tough match, as we expected. Inter is a wonderful team,” Guardiola stated. He highlighted Inter’s defensive prowess and their dangerous counterattacking ability. Despite the challenges, the City boss was pleased with his team’s second-half performance, noting that they created “at least 4-5 chances.”
Guardiola expressed his satisfaction with his squad, saying, “I’m extremely happy to coach this group and to be able to attack against a team that defends so well and is the champion of Italy.”
The Spanish manager found no fault with his team’s performance, emphasizing his contentment with every aspect of the game. “There’s nothing I disliked, I liked everything. I’m very happy to be able to attack with 11 men who know how to cover, double up, and when they have the ball, they run.”
Guardiola also acknowledged the reality of high-level football, stating, “At this level, you can’t have 20 scoring opportunities. We had 5, and we even played better than in the final two years ago, but we didn’t win.”
