Golden Boy 2024: Two Juventus players among finalists

The prestigious Golden Boy award, established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport to recognize the best under-21 footballer in Europe, has unveiled its list of 25 finalists for the 2024 edition. Among the talented young players vying for the honor are two Juventus stars: Kenan Yildiz and Samuel Mbangula.

This year’s list features an impressive array of rising talents from top clubs across Europe. Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal is considered a strong favorite after his outstanding performances for both club and country. Other notable contenders include Real Madrid’s Arda Güler and Endrick, Paris Saint-Germain’s Warren Zaïre-Emery and João Neves, and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

The Premier League is well-represented with six players making the cut, including three from Manchester United and two from Manchester City. Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton rounds out the English contingent.

Some of the other exciting prospects on the list are Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel and Aleksandar Pavlović, Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Ajax’s Jorrel Hato.

The Golden Boy award has a history of identifying future superstars, with past winners including Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, and Kylian Mbappé. Last year’s recipient was Jude Bellingham, who has since continued his meteoric rise at Real Madrid.

The winner of the 2024 Golden Boy award will be announced on December 4th in Turin, joining an illustrious list of previous recipients and potentially marking the start of a new footballing legacy.
