Giuntoli may resign, but De Laurentiis does not intend to release him

Start

Il Corriere dello Sport claim that Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli could resign in order to join Juve, but president Aurelio de Laurentiis does intend to release him. Giuntoli has a contract with Napoli until 2024, which De Laurentiis wants him to see out as he does not want to see his beloved director leave Naples for Turin.

Il Corriere write that:

“The feeling, the flirtation with Juve has also been cleared by Turin, it’s not like it’s a secret, but De Laurentiis at least at this moment has no intention of releasing him. Of letting him go. What’s more, to Juventus. The issue – a very delicate one – will obviously be the subject of a meeting scheduled after the match with Sampdoria: next week. The day is not yet scheduled, but considering that the tour in Korea is unofficially skipped and everyone is organizing vacations and transfers to the national team, from Monday onwards, every moment will be a possible opportunity for confrontation.”

“And if in the end no common ground is found, it is not excluded that Giuntoli will opt for the solution of Spalletti: resignation. Without any certainty that De Laurentiis will accept them, of course.”

“Napoli is firm on its initial position: Giuntoli has a contract until 2024 and for the moment De Laurentiis’ will is that the agreements are respected.”
