Giovanni Manna: ‘Inter and Atalanta superior to Napoli’

Start

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna shared his thoughts ahead of the crucial match against Inter Milan, emphasizing the competitive landscape of Serie A. Speaking to DAZN, Manna reaffirmed the club’s commitment to their initial goals, stating, “We have been consistent with our initial message; the president reiterated it. We are focused on our daily work. It’s a beautiful league, and the level is rising as we can see in European competitions. We want to be worthy of this wonderful stage.”

When asked about the need for a strong performance against Inter, Manna responded, “We must remain focused and positive, managing both the good moments like those leading up to Sunday and the moments of difficulty. We shouldn’t let our attention waver; we need to stay concentrated. We have prepared well for the match; games are made of details, and we hope to deliver a good performance.”

Manna also addressed comments made by Inter’s coach, Antonio Conte, who stated that Atalanta and Inter are superior to Napoli. He acknowledged this perspective by saying, “It is certainly objective; Inter dominated last season and made significant signings in March. Atalanta has had an incredible journey, winning the Europa League and working positively. We are trying to work constructively too, but it takes time.”

Reflecting on Napoli’s choice of coach, Manna noted, “We chose a coach to build with, selecting the best possible manager. His resume speaks for itself, but together we are trying to restart. We ask for a bit of patience but do not want to extinguish the dreams of our supporters.”
