Giorgio Chiellini: “Happy to be back home, a new phase begins”

Giorgio Chiellini, the legendary Italian defender, has expressed his joy at returning to Juventus in a new role as a club executive. Speaking at the presentation of the second edition of “My Kickoff in USA,” an initiative promoted by College Life Italia in collaboration with the Agnelli Foundation, Chiellini shared his thoughts on this new chapter in his life.

“I’m happy to be back home, aware that now another phase of my life begins where there will be a lot to study,” Chiellini stated. He acknowledged the value of his past experiences but emphasized the excitement of new challenges ahead. “I’ve partly put to use what I’ve done in the past, but as I said, this new life stimulates new knowledge and new curiosities, and I’m certain that I’ll be back to hitting the books in the coming years.”

Reflecting on his time in the United States, where he played for Los Angeles FC, Chiellini noted the cultural differences in how sport is perceived. “It left me with a lot. There’s a different culture there. Sport is seen differently; it’s entertainment,” he explained. “The result is important and is part of something bigger because you don’t just work for that. Obviously, the staff goes on the field to win, but there’s so much more behind it.”

Chiellini was particularly impressed by the family-oriented atmosphere at American sporting events. “Seeing the passion that exists in all sports with so many families at the stadium was a great inspiration,” he concluded.

This new role marks a significant transition for Chiellini, who spent the majority of his playing career with Juventus.
