Genoa are on the verge of finalizing the return of Andrea Pinamonti to the club. The Italian striker is set to join the Ligurian side on a loan deal with an option to buy, marking a significant move in the summer transfer window.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the transfer will be structured as a paid loan worth €2 million, with a purchase option set at €14 million. This arrangement gives Genoa flexibility while securing the services of a proven Serie A striker.
Pinamonti, who experienced relegation with Sassuolo to Serie B last season, is no stranger to Genoa. The 24-year-old previously played for the Rossoblu during the 2019-2020 season, making 34 appearances across Serie A and Coppa Italia competitions and scoring 7 goals.
This move is particularly significant as it paves the way for Fiorentina to complete their pursuit of Albert Gudmundsson. With Genoa securing Pinamonti as a replacement, they are now in a position to sanction Gudmundsson’s departure.
For Genoa, Pinamonti’s arrival represents a reinforcement of their attacking options as they prepare for the upcoming Serie A campaign under manager Alberto Gilardino. The striker’s previous experience with the club and his Serie A pedigree make him an attractive addition to the squad.
