Genoa are actively considering several free agent strikers to bolster their attacking attacking amidst an offensive crisis. While Mario Balotelli remains a concrete possibility for an immediate signing, the club has not yet made a final decision.
Sky Sport Italia report that the Genoa management, including sporting director Ottolini and executive Blasquez, are exploring various options through meetings and contacts. Among the names under consideration are Wissam Ben Yedder, Adam Ounas, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Ben Yedder, the 33-year-old French striker, is available after his contract with Monaco expired. Despite his impressive form last season, negotiations for a contract extension fell through due to disagreements over terms. However, there are some off-field issues concerning Ben Yedder that will be resolved one way or another by November 12.
Adam Ounas, a 27-year-old winger/second striker, is another target familiar with Serie A from his stints with Napoli, Cagliari, and Crotone. The Algerian is currently a free agent after his spell with Lille.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, the 34-year-old Cameroonian forward formerly of Bayern Munich, is perhaps the ideal solution for Genoa. The club had already shown interest in him during the summer transfer window. However, Choupo-Moting seems hesitant about the move and is reportedly waiting for other opportunities, with Manchester United being a potential suitor.
