Gazzetta: Manchester United show Interest in Bologna coach Thiago Motta

Start

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juventus and Manchester United have shown interest in Bologna coach Thiago Motta, though the former Italian international has yet to make a decision regarding his future. Motta’s contract with Bologna is set to expire at the end of the season, however, the Rossoblu are hopeful that the 41-year-old will opt to prolong his tenure at the Stadio Dall’Ara beyond the summer.

Bologna’s current position of fourth in the Serie A standings, just two points shy of third-placed Juventus, presents a realistic opportunity for them to secure a historic qualification for the Champions League.

According to reports from Gazzetta, both Juventus and Manchester United hold Motta in high regard, given his illustrious playing career with clubs such as Barcelona and Inter. Nevertheless, Motta remains undecided about his future with Bologna.

His agent, Dario Canovi, recently expressed confidence that Motta will eventually coach in the Champions League. Presently, Bologna stands in a more favorable position to secure a spot in Europe’s premier competition compared to Manchester United, who find themselves eight points adrift from the Premier League’s top four. Juventus, meanwhile, currently occupy third place in Serie A. However, their recent form has been less than stellar, with just one league victory in their last nine outings.
