Gazetta: Thiago Motta the leading candidate to Replace Allegri at Juventus

Start

With uncertainty surrounding Max Allegri’s future at Juventus, Bologna manager Thiago Motta has emerged as the frontrunner to potentially take the reins at the Turin-based club next season.

Allegri’s position has come under scrutiny following a string of disappointing performances by Juventus, prompting speculation about his potential departure.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Fabiana della Valle, Allegri faces the possibility of being dismissed if Juventus fail to secure a spot in the Champions League for the next campaign, meaning a top-five finish is imperative.

The Champions League holds immense significance for Juventus, and despite their recent struggles, Allegri retains the support of the club’s hierarchy. While it’s unlikely that Allegri will be sacked mid-season, failing to qualify for the Champions League would present a significant financial setback for the Bianconeri, depriving them of an estimated €80 million in revenue.

A final decision regarding Allegri’s future is expected to be made at the end of May. If Juventus fall short of Champions League qualification, Motta is seen as the preferred choice to take over the managerial reins. While Vincenzo Italiano and Raffaele Palladino are also under consideration, they currently remain secondary options.
