With all eyes on Napoli at the moment, head coach Rudi Garcia was able to secure an important three points at home to Udinese as the Partenopei recorded a 4-1 triumph at Stadio Diego Maradona. Victor Osimhen got on the scoresheet and Garcia spoke to DAZN about the Nigerian forward post-match, discussing his relationship with him. The French coach also spoke about Kvicha Kvaratskhelia getting back to his best and his response to the recent TikTok videos:
On his relationship with Osimhen: “I complimented Victor. I’ve had an excellent relationship with him since I arrived. And then I’m happy because he scored a goal tonight and a center forward always wants to do that. He too had a bit of bad luck, between the crossbar and the posts in the last few games, but he was quite calm as I told him, focused on playing well.”
On the TikTok videos: “Nobody wanted to do harm, neither the TikTok of Victor’s penalty episode, nor Victor on his social media. Nobody wanted to do harm, but they are reactions, instincts and you can understand it. I don’t know if he will put the photos with the Napoli shirt back on Instagram because it’s not my account, but I assure you he loves the shirt.”
On Kvaratskhelia: “Now that he has scored he will be much lighter and will no longer think about it. We spoke for a long time, I advised him not to think about it and above all to take pleasure in playing. He is a unique player, the players who skip the man they are few, so we encourage him to do it. When he is cheerful or happy on the pitch, everything comes as calmly as it did tonight.”
