Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly expressed an interest in PSG and Italy midfielder Marco Verratti. The 30-year-old was expected to become the latest in a long line of European talent to make their way to the Middle East, with Al-Hilal making him an offer reported to be €156 million for a three year contract.
The latest reports suggest that the move may have collapsed, but Verratti is still keen to leave the Parisians after over a decade in Ligue 1.
TMW journalist Marco Conterio reports that Galatasaray are trying to make another ‘knockout blow’ on the market and have begun negotiations with PSG for Verratti.
The report claims Gala would offer to take Verratti on loan with a conditional obligation to sign him outright and include a percentage on future resale.
It would be an audacious move, but the Turkish side have already secured Mauro Icardi, Hakim Ziyech and Wilfried Zaha this summer, setting their sites on Champions League qualification next week.
