Galatasaray are making waves in Istanbul’s transfer market, having secured Victor Osimhen and now setting their sights on another star—Adrien Rabiot. The French midfielder, a former Juventus player, is currently a free agent after his contract with the Italian club expired.
Throughout the summer, numerous clubs have attempted to sign Rabiot, but none have succeeded. Despite being out of contract for two months, Rabiot remains without a team. The list of interested clubs included Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Milan, among others. Now, Galatasaray have joined the fray, hoping to entice the talented midfielder to join their ranks.
Interestingly, Rabiot is in no rush to make a decision, as free agents can sign with any club at any time. However, prolonged inactivity could impact his physical condition, making a timely decision crucial.
Calciomercato report how earlier this year, Rabiot turned down a contract extension from Juventus that would have paid him over €6 million annually. Since then, he has struggled to find a club willing to meet those terms. Galatasaray’s offer is reportedly around €5 million, which may not be enough to secure his services. According to reports, the Turkish club is not currently among Rabiot’s top priorities, as he is still holding out for a potential move to the Premier League.
Despite the challenges, Galatasaray remains determined to bring Rabiot to Istanbul. With a strong squad being assembled, the club is hopeful that their ambition and the prospect of playing a key role in their plans will eventually convince Rabiot to join them.
As the Turkish transfer window remains open until September 13, Galatasaray has a limited time to finalize the deal.
