Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini looks set to leave the club this summer: “I feel I can still give so much, I have so much desire to prove”. The 28-year-old has featured primarily from the bench this season but made a rare start in the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 win over Verona last night. Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the game, he admitted his frustration at the lack of playing time, hinting he will be leaving in the summer when his contract with the club ends:
“It’s not easy to play so little, but I try to do my best. It’s been a long time since I played two matches in a row and I’m happy to have contributed to the victory.
It was good for us to score straight away, then we knew that Verona plays man-to-man and we were lucid in turning the ball over and then going for goal. We came into this match having played 120 minutes against Parma in the Coppa Italia, the victory is the most important thing.
In my career I have had level-headed coaches and created a baggage that I will always carry with me. If I arrived at Inter, it is because of my work culture.
My future? I no longer intend to play so little. I feel I can still give a lot, I have a lot of desire to prove myself and so in June I will make my decisions.”
