Giorgio Furlani, the CEO of Milan, has spoken out regarding the ongoing investigation by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office into the ownership transfer from Elliott to RedBird. After an investigation into the ownership transition from Elliott to RedBird, Furlani addressed the situation, shortly before the Rossoneri kicked off against Slavia Prague in the Europa League:
“There is an ongoing investigation into the ownership of Milan. As stated multiple times, the club belongs to RedBird, and the authorities, of course, have the right to conduct investigations. We have cooperated with them and provided all the requested information.
He then continued, “We are available for anything. Our focus is on doing our job to ensure Milan’s success and that our fans are proud of their club.”
The spokesperson for RedBird released a statement: “RedBird Fund IV and its subscribers own 99.93% of AC Milan; the remaining 0.07% is held by individual Italian shareholders who have long been supporters of the Club. The idea that RedBird does not own or control AC Milan is absolutely false and is contradicted by all the evidence and facts, including those purportedly underlying the investigation.”
